Secretary of State for

Business, Innovation and Skills

On 7/8September 2010 Bill attempted to alert the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills about the problems at Manchester University. He could not find an appropriate  email address, so the following message was sent via a message box on the departments web site.

Dear Mr Cable,

I held trustee responsibilities relating to two publicly funded university research projects.

I am able to supply you with clear evidence that mediocre British science is being covered up. And that as a result, commercial opportunities are being lost to China.

This message box facility does not permit the addition of attachments. So, if my evidence is of interest, please supply me with a standard email address so that I can write to you.

You can get a flavour of the problem from the following web page: http://www.cheshire-innovation.com/sali/CrashSALi-Project.htm

Yours sincerely,

Bill Courtney

Bill did not receive a reply.

Comment: It is very unlikely that Mr Cable himself ever saw this message Bur clearly somebody in his department took the decision to turn a blind eye to warnings about the loss of British intellectual property to China.

Six years later this laziness has returned to haunt us.
