Why did Eversheds act on behalf of Manchester University?

Eversheds is a large and highly respected firm of solicitors. Bill Courtney does not believe that they would wittingly collude with Manchester University in an attempt to defraud the British taxpayer.

Bill tried to use the Freedom of Information Act to determine if the University had deceived Eversheds.

However, as the reader can see from the document below, Manchester University refused to release its correspondence with Eversheds. [The letter has been edited to remove paragraphs unrelated to the Eversheds question.]
